Swamiye Saranam Ayyapaa-Payanam

Swamiye saranam ayyapa,

I would like to say that payanam to sabari malai is something that cannot be describe the joy in words. As every sami margal will be fasting for 41 days(1 mandalam ) or more than that and will be preparing to sabari malai.Every 26th of dec will be mandal pooja which is the day end of 1 mandalam .Sami margal will be sitting for the pooja and will be given 2 banana leaf and flowers ,whereby guruswamy will chant 1008 ayyapa saranam followed by sami margal. Each saranam sami margal need to put flower followed by saranam ayyapa.End of this pooja sami margal can take their irumudi at any temple with their guruswamy .On sad side is that some the sami margal would be not able to come to India ,sabar malai due to their finacial problem, work, studying and some other things that cannot be ignore. Most of them vey eager to step on sabari malai .This feeling goes for new kanni sami that not able to go or palla malla sami that many times have come to sabari malai .

The experince is cannot be express by words .Like myself i only able to go to sabari malai on 5th malai as this is my 11th ayypan malai ,so for first 4 years i have complete my fasting and take irumudi in malaysia .I dont have the chance to go to sabari malai due to finacial problem and certain years with exams .I would be thinking why i have not be called by ayyapa to his home at sabari malai.Every year when time times comes to irumudi pooja ,we have talk walk from the tempe we do irumudi pooja to other temple.Walking from other temple to other temple with bare foot is to other sami margal that cannot go to sabari malai and give the feel of when you at sabari malai. You need to walk on tar road, stone ,climbing 18 mountain including small mountain and karimalai, azuta, cross the river and walk on night time .At this point ,we will e answered for what ever we did during the fasting -if do every days pooja, follow the bramachariya veritam you would be fine during at sabari malai as you would be guide by ayyapa itself .If you didnt do as what needed during veritam then you wull be served -such as sick ,not able to walk ,get tired fast after few meters walk and many more obstacle will be go through .That is why we need to be very caeful in ayyapan veritam. You will be paid as what you give to him.One time for every one to be remebered that you cannot walk using your body strenght or power. How healthy your are ,how taff your are is not considered in sabari malai.Because every one will be guide by ayyapa sami if chant his power mantra that is ayyapa saranam.Without saying ayypan saranam belive me you wont be reaching HIM on sanindhanam.

Swamiye Saranam Ayyapaa -18 Paddi

Before one views the Sanctum Sanctorum, one has to climb over eighteen sacred steps. These steps are now covered with `Panchaloham' (a special composition of gold, silver, copper, iron and tin. Pilgrims initiate their ascent up the Pathinettam Padi by placing their right foot on the first step. The symbolism of these 18 steps is as follows:-
The first five steps symbolise the five human senses (Panchendriyas) i.e. visual (vision), auditory (hearing), olfactory (smell), gustatory (taste) and tactile (touch). These signify the `mortal' nature of one's body. The next eight steps symbolise the eight Ashtaragas viz, Kama, Krodha, Lobha, Moha, Madha, Maltsarya, Asooya, Dhumb (Love, Anger, Avarice, Lust, Pride, Unhealthy Competition, Jealousy and Boastfulness). The next three steps stand for three Gunas or Thrigunas (nature-born qualities) i.e. Satva, ( perspicuity, discernment) , Rajas (activity, enjoyment) and Thamas (inactivity, stupor). The last two steps represent Vidya (Knowledge) and Avidya (Ignorance).

t is assumed that after climbing up these eighteen steps reverently, one symbolically detaches oneself from all the worldly ties that bind one physically and mentally to the world . It is only then that a person will be in a receptive condition to be `one' in consonance with the concept of 'The Ultimate Creator. The details given above represent the most prevalently accepted version of the significance of the Holy Pathinettam Padi. Other versions are:-
Ayyappa was a master of 18 weapons and the steps signify these.
Ayyappa before merging into the idol at the Sanctum Sanctorum, surrendered his 18 weapons, one at each step of Pathinettam Padi.

The steps represent the 18 hills existing in and around the region of Sabarimala

Originally it was granite stone of 5 to 6 feet wide. Now it is covered by panchloha in the year 1985. The steep steps are so important and holy, no one can climb them without fasting for 41 days and carrying the holy irrumudi on head.

There are many mythology associated with the holy Patinettampadi. Some believe the eighteen steps denotes the 18 puranas. Some say that 18 weapons with which Lord Ayyappa destroyed the evil denotes the 18 steps. Others are of the belief that the first five steps denotes the indriyas (eyes, ears, nose, tongue and skin). The next eight steps signifies the ragas (tatwa, kama, krodha,

moha, lobha, madha, matsraya, and ahamkara. The next three steps signifies the gunas (satwa, rajas and thamas). The seventeenth and the eighteenth denotes vidhya and ignorance.

The Patinettampadi can be used only twice - once for ascending the temple and once for descending below leaving the hill. Before ascending or descending the steps, pilgrims break coconut as an offering to the steps. One needs to have the sacre Irumudi on head while going up or down the 18 steps. While descending the steps the devotees climb down backwards facing the sanctum sanctorum.

One who climbs the Patinettampadi for 18 times shall plant a sapling of coconut in Sabarimala.

Kiri's Brother Wedding

Swamiye Saranam Ayyapaa

On 14-17th.Nov every Karthigai 1st all hindu pilgrim will be wearing thulasi malai as shows started their fasting for 41days(1 mandalam). You need to do pooja on morning and evening.Black coloured vetti need to wear-due to this colour is having a power to protect from bad evil or obstacles.Trained ourselves by eating vegetarian and fruits is good for health and keep clean our body from toxins.1 more purpose is that during all the pilgrim (ayyapan swami's)their journey to sabari malai they have to walk through kerala forest where is all the wild life habitat such as tiger ,lions, elephant, snake and many more is living there. So when we eating vegetartian foods our body bloods smell wont attract the animal's even though their might be beside you.

All the pilgrim will be called as "swami" once you put the malai on ur neck .Swami's need to be bare foot during going to temple or house pooja .It s made for the swami get used to it as there need to walk in the forest(kerala thick forest) in bare foot which there is hard rocks ,stone ,climbing mountain, crossing the river and some times we need to sit to get down from the hills .
So swami need to practice this as in this era will all wearing slippers, sandal, shoes and so on from getting our foot to touch the tar road.
